Upcoming Meetings (Bridgehampton Issues)

  • Loaves & Fishes - site plan approved; awaiting final sign off

North Edge Stables - proposal to develop the empty field on the corner of Lumber Lane & Scuttle Hole Road with 12 homes for ag labor, stables and riding rings. We continue to stand in vehement opposition as the commercial use violates the conservation easement.

Round Swamp - filed plans to expand to use convert the existing garage to retail space. BCA is monitoring.

810 Lumber Lane - request to construct a 26x65 foot agricultural building; comments due 10/5/25.

Konner Friedlander Gateway - plans are to develop 7 lots with commercial structures; BCA is monitoring.

Budhampton - approved and awaiting final sign off from Planning Board.

625 Butter Lane - A victory! With litigation support from neighbors, the Town won the lawsuit! The court ruled no housing could be built on this ag reserve. We expect the owner to appeal which can take up to 2 years. The owner has also asked for a variance to have animals and related shelters which is still pending before both the ZBA and the Planning Board.

Two Trees - The Planning Board approved the new outdoor riding rings. Neighbors have filed a pending lawsuit.

Target - scheduled to open in Fall 2026. The Planning Board approved changes to the parking, entrance and loading dock. As far as we know, no plans have yet been field for the store itself.

2297 Montauk Highway (New Farrell Office Building) - we are awaiting revised plans.

  • 625 Butter Lane and 2297 Montauk Highway - see the updates under Planning Board above

Hans Decker 439 Hayground Road - The ZBA approved a variance that will allow the historic home to remain on the property while a 2nd residential home is constructed. This was another victory for preservation!

8 Two Trees - the owner asked for significant setback relief to add a padel court, in addition to the tennis court, pool and expansive yard they already have to make it all fit. Unfortuantely the ZBA granted this request.

  • Tree/Planting Resolutions - there are two resolutions pending with the Town Board. One would make maintenance the responsibility of the owner of any plant or tree that infringes onto a neighboring property. The second would require pre-approval for any clearing activities. We are monitoring both proposals.

Trash Can Removal along Main Street - although the trash cans have been returned, issues remain over who is responsible including financially for maintaining the grassy easement and sidewalks along our Main Street. We continue to monitor the matter with the Town Board.

  • Loaves & Fishes - received approval from the LHDB on their building and signage plans.

2297 Montauk Highway (New Farrell Office Building) - LHDB provided comments and we are awaiting revised plans.

New Second Historic District - Having successfully established the Main Street Historic District, we are now working with LHDB to establish a second Bridgehampton Historic District that will surround the Main Street Historic District and protect historic structures in the heart of our hamlet.
